Our mission is to revolutionize wood residue management while benefiting both the environment and our communities.
Our journey
John recognized the value that process engineering and project management brings to a company. A partnership between John and Salah, an engineer, experienced in both business and project management, soon formed. With their combined knowledge, we started on our biochar production journey.
As our team expanded, Greg brought his scientific knowledge and expertise to our company. With 15 years of experience as an environmental consultant and a graduate degree in Chemistry from Carleton University, Greg's dedication to producing effective and high-quality biochar has been invaluable.
Robyn’s addition to our team brought a new dimension. Her 16 years of experience in scientific regulation, stakeholder engagement, and project management makes her a great asset. Robyn holds a graduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa and is passionate about supporting communities through environmental protection and sustainability.
Our company was born out of a desire to improve soil health and the realization that traditional wood disposal such as burning and chipping are detrimental to the environment. Located south of Ottawa and with decades of experience as an engineer, and farmer, our founder John, recognized an opportunity to improve his land while contributing to meaningful change. He learned about the ancient world of biochar and its remarkable benefits as a soil amendment and that it is a sustainable alternative to traditional disposal methods which release harmful greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. This led to the establishment of our company and our mission.
